The think-tank Friends of Europe organises its annual Development Policy Forum (DPF) on the Africa Summit ‘Africa:
Progress and pitfalls’.
The Policy Summit will be held on Tuesday, 24 June at the Cercle Gaulois in Brussels, in presence of Andris Piebalgs, EU Commissioner for Development, and African decision makers.
EU and African policymakers will discuss how Africa’s runaway population growth can be converted into a true demographic dividend by providing employment opportunities to young people and will look into the role that global value chains play in Africa’s economic development.
A closer look will be taken at EU-Africa relations, as these will have to become more strategic, political and geared to tackle 21st century challenges.
