Women led businesses transformed under the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme

Between July 28th and 8th August 2014, 30 women entrepreneurs participated in a business management training workshop in the framework of the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WED), financed by Chanel Corporate Foundation and executed by the Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE).

Selected participants were from the agro-business, tourism and manufacturing sectors.

WED is a capacity building initiative which is a component of the Private Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

The PSDP is an initiative of the Government of Botswana, represented by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), in partnership with the European Union (EU). The programme is supported by CDE and the Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM). The purpose of the PSDP is to stimulate and sustain growth through economic diversification by capacitating the private sector and facilitating ease of doing business in Botswana.
