Eastern Africa

The CDE office in Eastern Africa covers 13 countries : Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Uganda, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania.

It is the biggest ACP region, with a population of about 317 million people and an overall GDP estimated at $421 billion.

Some States of the region have undertaken a process of political and economic integration through the Eastern African Community (EAC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) .

The main economic sectors are agriculture, manufacturing, mining extraction, fisheries, forestry, trade and ICTs.
