Bringing ten Cameroonian bakeries up to standards


Given the role of bread and bakery products in the diet of the local population, the Cameroonian government has made the compliance with the statutory standard NC 213: 2003-03 mandatory in order to regulate this sector of activity.

In this context, a pilot programme was proposed to the CDE by the Cameroonian Employers’ Organisation for Bakers, Pastry Chefs, Biscuit Manufacturers and Related Industries to improve the competitiveness of 10 of its members using mainly local wheat and tuber flours for bakery products.
