Setting up in ACP countries

Date:
1996

Setting up in ACP territories? Certainly. But where and in what kind of economic environment?

This is a legitimate question, if one is envisaging investments in developing countries or negotiating an industrial cooperation agreement with a local partner.

Because whether or not the expected profits materialise will depend to a large extent on many factors outside the control of the investing company.

Preoccupied with technical or commercial aspects, sometimes enthused with commercial success achieved after many months - or even years - of difficult negotiations, companies do not always devote sufficient attention in their feasibility studies to the economic, legal, social and cultural environment in the country where they are preparing to carry out their projects.
